Rule reminder

Italian has several concessive connectives: "anche se" (informal, + indicative), "sebbene/benché" (formal, + subjunctive), "nonostante/malgrado" (+ subjunctive or noun), "pur" (+ gerund, same subject), "per quanto" (degree, + subjunctive). Choosing the right one depends on register, mood required, and whether subjects are the same.
