Rule reminder
Visto che ('given that / seeing that') and dato che ('given that') are semi-formal causal conjunctions that take the indicative. They present the cause as an established, observable fact. Both can appear before or after the main clause. Register: neutral-to-formal, higher than 'perché' but lower than 'poiché'. 'Visto che' can also be used colloquially.
