Rule reminder

Abstract nouns in Italian (ruolo, impatto, influenza, effetto, cambiamento, crisi) have specific verbs they collocate with. 'Svolgere un ruolo' (to play a role), 'avere un impatto' (to have an impact), 'esercitare un'influenza' (to exert an influence), 'produrre un effetto' (to produce an effect). These are not freely interchangeable.
