Rule reminder

Formal emails in Italian follow letter conventions but have specific adaptations: (1) Subject: precise and specific, (2) Opening: 'Gentile [title + surname],' for individuals; 'Spettabile [company],' for organizations, (3) Body: same formulas as letters, (4) Closing: 'Distinti saluti' / 'Cordiali saluti', (5) Signature block: name, title, company, phone, email. Unlike Anglo-Saxon emails, Italian formal emails do NOT use 'Hi' / 'Hello'. Emails are more informal than letters but formal emails maintain letter conventions.
