Rule reminder

The gerund (gerundio) can express manner (modo): Camminando lentamente, arrivò tardi = He arrived late by walking slowly. The gerund implies the same subject as the main verb. Use gerundio presente for simultaneous action, gerundio passato (avendo/essendo + past participle) for a prior action.
