Rule reminder
In type 1 (real) conditionals, the apodosis uses the futuro semplice: 'Se studia, passerà l'esame.' In type 2 (hypothetical) conditionals, the apodosis uses the condizionale presente: 'Se studiasse, passerebbe l'esame.' The key distinction: futuro = real/likely scenario; condizionale = hypothetical/unlikely scenario. The choice of apodosis tense affects the speaker's assessment of the condition's likelihood.
Se domani piove, la gita _____ annullata. (The speaker thinks it might actually rain.)
