Rule reminder

Mixed conditionals combine tenses from different conditional types. A past unreal condition (se + congiuntivo trapassato) can produce a present consequence (condizionale presente): 'Se avessi studiato medicina, ora sarei un medico.' The condition is in the past; the result is felt in the present.
