Rule reminder

In formal Italian, 'tanto...quanto' expresses equal comparison (as...as). It can function as: (1) adjective: tanto coraggio quanto determinazione (as much courage as determination); (2) adverb: studia tanto quanto lavora (studies as much as he works); (3) with nouns: tante opportunità quante sfide. Note: in colloquial Italian 'così...come' is more common, but 'tanto...quanto' is preferred in formal and academic writing.
