Rule reminder

'In modo da' / 'in modo tale da' + infinitive: same subject, purpose/manner. 'In modo che' / 'in modo tale che' + congiuntivo: different subjects, or when you want to emphasize result. 'In guisa da' + infinitive: archaic/literary synonym of 'in modo da'. 'In guisa che' + congiuntivo: archaic/literary synonym of 'in modo che'. These are common in academic, legal, and journalistic Italian. The distinction same/different subject is absolute.
