Rule reminder

Verb false friends are especially tricky at B2 because they appear in complex sentences where the wrong meaning sounds almost plausible. 'Assistere' = to attend/watch, NOT to assist. 'Pretendere' = to demand/expect, NOT to pretend. 'Supportare' = to tolerate/put up with, NOT to support (emotionally). Always verify the actual Italian meaning before assuming.
