Syntactic Dislocation — Dislocazione Sintattica·Left Dislocation with Indirect Objects
💡

Rule reminder

In left dislocation (dislocazione a sinistra), a noun phrase is moved to the front of the sentence and resumed by a clitic pronoun. With indirect objects, the pronoun 'gli' (to him/to them) or 'le' (to her) must be used: 'A Marco, gli ho detto la verità.' The dislocated element and the clitic are coreferential.
