Rule reminder
Concessive connectives introduce a subordinate clause expressing an obstacle or difficulty that does not prevent the main event. Key forms: 'sebbene' + subjunctive, 'nonostante' + subjunctive OR noun phrase, 'benché' + subjunctive, 'pur + gerund', 'quantunque' + subjunctive (literary), 'per quanto' + subjunctive. Note: 'ciononostante', 'tuttavia', 'nondimeno' are adverbial connectives (between two main clauses — no subjunctive required).
