Rule reminder

In formal and literary Italian, indirect questions — introduced by 'mi chiedo', 'non so', 'non è chiaro', 'ignorare', 'domandarsi' — can take the congiuntivo instead of the indicative to express uncertainty or distancing. The tense follows the standard sequence: present main → congiuntivo presente/passato; past main → congiuntivo imperfetto/trapassato.
