Rule reminder

The subjunctive is triggered by: (1) verbs of opinion/doubt/emotion, (2) impersonal expressions, (3) concessive conjunctions (sebbene, benché, nonostante, malgrado, per quanto), (4) final/conditional conjunctions (affinché, purché, a meno che, a condizione che), (5) 'prima che', (6) indefinite antecedents, (7) superlatives. The indicative is used after verbs of fact, 'dopo che', 'quando' (referring to known events), and 'dal momento che'.
