Rule reminder

Essere = to be (description, state of being). Avere = to have (possession, physical sensations). Examples: 'Sono stanco' (I am tired) but 'Ho fame' (I am hungry — literally 'I have hunger'). Italian uses avere for hunger, thirst, heat, cold, fear, etc.
